Stress management therapy

The stress management therapy I offer is based on a holistic approach combining the helping relationship, sophrology and Shiatsu. Together, these approaches address the physical, emotional and mental manifestations of stress.

This support may be right for you if…

You recognize yourself in one or more of these situations:

  • You feel constantly under pressure.
  • You ruminate or find it hard to slow down your mind.
  • You often feel tired, even after a full night's sleep.
  • You experience anxiety or are easily overwhelmed by your emotions.
  • You have recurring physical tension.
  • You want to regain more calm, energy and balance.
  • You lose your composure during exams or sports competitions.

Stress management therapy is a comprehensive program structured over several sessions, generally 4 to 8 sessions of 90 minutes depending on your needs.

Each session is tailored to your reality and works on several levels:

  • better understanding your stress and its triggers;
  • calming the nervous system;
  • releasing physical tension;
  • welcoming and regulating emotions;
  • developing concrete tools for lasting well-being.

The goal is not only to reduce symptoms, but to help you regain your natural ability to face everyday challenges with more calm, confidence and balance.

Guided sophrology exercises

A typical 90-minute stress management therapy session

Therapeutic exchange

Exchange time

  • Time to verbalize and connect with your feelings and emotions.
  • Simple, concrete tools to integrate between sessions to extend the benefits into your daily life.
Guided sophrology exercises

Sophrology

  • Guided sophrology exercises (breathing, relaxation, visualization, body awareness).
Shiatsu on massage table

Shiatsu / acupressure

  • A part (about 30 minutes depending on need) of Shiatsu/acupressure on a massage table to anchor relaxation in the body, release energetic blockages and support nervous system regulation.

The purpose of sophrology is to "open the doors to inner change."

It begins with understanding how stress works, before guiding you into deep relaxation where guided exercises (breathing, visualization, body awareness) initiate that change.

Sophrology exercises are generally done seated (but sometimes lying down or standing), with no physical contact from me, but guided by my voice.

It is a genuine guided personal development method, and therefore requires a certain investment in each person's own process.

Why combine sophrology and Shiatsu?

Stress affects both mind and body. That is why I chose to combine two complementary approaches. Sophrology helps develop resources to better manage stress in daily life, while Shiatsu helps the body release tension and supports nervous system regulation. Together, they offer comprehensive support that addresses both the causes and manifestations of stress.

When the nervous system regains its balance, it becomes easier to adapt, recover and regain confidence in your abilities.

Therapeutic Shiatsu on table

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, from which Shiatsu draws its essence, the person is seen as a true entity: physical, psychic and emotional. Emotion, whatever it may be, takes on great importance; it is as real and palpable as a physical symptom.

Therapeutic Shiatsu enables you to contact emotion through bodily sensation,
and to transform it by reconnecting with feeling, anchoring, contacting the body
and welcoming sensations.

Therapeutic Shiatsu may be right for you if…

  • You want to reconnect with your body.
  • You need to nurture deep relaxation.
  • You want to explore a psychophysical energetic technique that treats the person holistically.
  • You experience physical signs of excessive stress or imbalance (fatigue, insomnia, chest pressure, headaches, tension, stomach pain, difficulty digesting, etc.).
  • You have already had stress management therapy and want only an occasional prevention/well-being session.

Therapeutic Shiatsu is an approach that uses the energetic work of Chinese medicine to reach the root of imbalance.
It is relevant for prevention, stabilizing a condition, meeting a specific need, or addressing one or more issues you wish to work on in particular.

A typical 90-minute Therapeutic Shiatsu session

  • Time for exchange and the helping relationship to verbalize and connect with your feelings, sensations and emotions.
  • About 60 minutes of Shiatsu/acupressure on a massage table to anchor relaxation in the body, release energetic blockages and support nervous system regulation.
